Ausdance Industry Days provide our VCE VET Dance students with an understanding of the Dance Industry by partnering with professional artists and performing companies.

There are two Industry days for Year 10-12 students undergoing their CUA20113 Certificate II in Dance.


Our next Student Industry days are:

Industry Day – Dance Workshops

You will choose one of the following:

1. Commercial Dance

2. Contemporary Dance

Fee: Free for students that are enrolled in the VCE VET CUA20113 Certificate II in Dance with Ausdance Victoria

Places are limited, and will be allocated on a first booking basis.

Industry Day #1 – Dance Workshops


Courtney Hale

Courtney Hale is a skilled performance artist in song, dance and teaching.Courtney was on the Voice Top 158 contestants 2014 Australia that has shifted her career into cultivating her sound to produce her own music.Uniqueness is power ,each individual can showcase their talent in their own way.

Courtney trains with this value that in fact helps to translate and develop her performance, movement and teaching abilities David Jaanz, Deborah Hale, Paris Goebel world-class choreographer are mentors and trainers Courtney has been apart of to widen her skill set.

While singing and dancing her way around Melbourne she is also known to be choreographing for many Australian Artist such as Missy Higgins, Woodes,Dustin Tebbit and many more. If you can be believe it you can do it, Create with a pure heart and your greatest work will come to life.



Trevor Santos

Born and raised in Melbourne, founder of award winning crew The Collektive, Trevor Santos is a highly sought after teacher locally and internationally.

With accolades including; Judging the Australian Dance Crew Championships, Hip Hop International and Heavy Weight Urban Dance Championships; Choreographing for The Australian Open 2017&2018, UDO’s 2016 champions KSTAR and ‘LOVE IS LOVE’ Dance Editorial; Working alongside notable national and international artists Marvin Priest, Yeo and Hangeng, as well as performing for Peter Alexander, Boost Juice, Porsche, Subaru, Nitro Athletics, Dance Editorial’s ‘7 VICES’ and TJ The King of Pop show at both Her Majesty’s Theatre & The Atheneum Theatre. 

Trevor is now leading the ‘Melbourne’s Own’ dance movement providing real opportunities for the community to come together to grow and learn.


Melanie Moravski Dechnicz

Graduate of a Bachelor of Performing Arts (Monash University), majoring in Drama and Theatre Studies, minoring in Contemporary Dance (Deakin University).  Melanie has studied with many renowned Ukrainian choreographers. Trained with Virsky, Ukraine’s most prestigious dance company in Kyiv in 2001. In 2009 Melanie was awarded with the title Merited (Performing) Artist of Ukraine, by the Ukrainian President.

Melanie is the current Character Lecturer at the Australian Conservatoire of Ballet and the Melbourne Conservatoire of Ballet. She has taught at dance ensembles and schools nationally and internationally. Melanie opened Lehenda Ukrainian Dance Company and School of dance in 2014 and in its short existence it’s risen to become one of Australia’s premier Ukrainian dance ensembles.

Jayden Hicks

Jayden is a Green Room Award Nominated contemporary dancer based in Melbourne. His dance company credits include Opera Australia, Melbourne Ballet CompanyQuirky Productions, RickStix, Collaboration The Project and Vertical Shadows.

Jayden is a principal artist for Transit Dance Company under the direction of Paul Malek, and featured in the critically acclaimed BOYZ and Yours Truly.

Jayden is also the Artistic Director of Origins Dance Company and the Producer of popular Melbourne dance events Dance Architect and UNDRGRND.

Chelsea Byrne

Chelsea is a Melbourne based contemporary dance educator and independent artist who has studied dance extensively, completing a B Arts (Dance) / B Education (UNSW 2007), Post Graduate Diploma in Performance Creation (VCA 2012) and Master of Dance (VCA 2017).

She has taught contemporary dance, choreography and improvisation for Wollongong High School of the Performing Arts, The Arts Unit NSW and developed school dance programs in Sydney, Melbourne and London (UK).

She currently delivers VET dance programs at The Space Dance and Arts Centre where she has held several roles at including Director of Contemporary Dance and Course Administrator. As a teacher, Chelsea is dedicated to mentoring young artists toward understanding the infinite potential of movement, developing individual style and self-direction.

As a dancer, she performed in in Victoria Hunt’s Tangi Wai… The Cry of Water for Dance Massive (2017), Hypnagogia choreographed by Amanda Lever (2015) and as a member of Austinmer Dance Theatre in their inaugural year (2011). Her artistic practice privileges improvisation, multidisciplinary collaboration and relational structures between performer and audience.

Freya List

Freya List has had an eclectic career as a performer and has been pinned as a choreographer to watch. After completing her full time training at Spectrum Dance, Freya was accepted into an internship at Broadway Dance Center in New York: with a contemporary concentration. Freya trained and performed throughout Europe and the US, before returning to Australia to perform in Kim Adam’s ‘4 Letters’ and choreograph, direct and dance in her own show ‘half full’ as part of a double bill with Paul Malek’s Evolve.

Freya’s choreography can most recently be seen in ‘The Children’ by MTC, the ‘Kabaret Dietrich’ cabaret and the Eden Swan live show at Melbourne Spring Fashion Week. Freya’s screen credits include The Doctor Blake Mysteries, The Pacific, Neighbours, Utopia, Good Morning America and TVC’s for Toyota, and Norwich Insurance. Freya also has her choreography being featured on the Australian Dance feature film ‘UP HERE’, ‘Right Now’ Music video for Hopium, ‘Oh Loretta’ for Sex on Toast and ‘Glow’ for Braille Face, and is the creator of the event series Playing Field.


These events are for Ausdance Victoria’s CUA20113 Certificate II in Dance students only.
